Thank goodness for an early flight. We missed that chaos by just a few hours… `_`

Fred set up this blog for me about 6 months ago and I never touched it. Why? Not sure. I suppose I could blame it on not have enough free time to write but that’s sort of a bullshit excuse.

I suppose its more that each time I plan to, I think to myself: “Nah, that’s not worth writing about.”

But the truth is, most things are. If there’s ever a case for blogging, its me. I’ve moved to a foreign (sort of) country, and I no longer visit home often. And as I was preparing my class list for this upcoming year, I began to regret a bit, not having journaled last year. It was a year of a lot of big adjustments.

Also, the night before I left Joliet, my mother pulled my aside and asked if I could requisition some time for a phone call once a week, just so she and I could be more in touch than the year previous. Truth be told, I’m not sure I can afford to call more – this year’s finances will be even tighter than the last – and as sweet as Fred’s offerings are, I dislike using his money unless absolutely necessary.

So I suppose this is for you, Mom. Now that you have a laptop, you should be able to check often. And I promise to do my best to post regularly.

Can a person make a resolution in August? I think so.
